A non-flowering apple scented chamomile perfect for making living seats, lawns and growing into patios. 9x9cm pot (8cm depth)
Description
- Creeping perennial
- Low growing
- Aromatic
- Easy to maintain
There is a long history of chamomile lawns in this country; they were very popular during the Elizabethan era. All these varieties required cutting to stop them flowering and keep them low. Treneague is unusual because it is a non-flowering variety which means it stays low to the ground.

This creeping aromatic spreads slowly to produce a fragrant low growing carpet. It prefers a sunny spot and stays green year-round - the only thing to look out for is those pesky slugs in early spring when chamomile is growing slowly and the slugs seem able to eat it quicker than it can grow. A plant per 30cm square is a good rule of thumb for planting and smaller areas are generally easier to manage. This chamomile works really well in a square of patio where the paving stone has been removed, grown as the seating area of an outdoor chair or for small areas of lawn instead of grass.
