Don't be put off by the half-hardy nature of this fast growing aromatic herb, even if you aren't able to keep it over winter, it is worth growing as an annual. It is best grown in full sun and if you are able to move it into a cold greenhouse for the winter then container growing is the way to go. With the first frosts, the top growth dies right back and in mild winters it will survive outside and shoot again in spring.
