A fast growing herb, Indian mint can only be planted outside once all risks of frost have passed. As a trailer it is especially suited to containers and hanging baskets and prefers a spot with plenty of sun. It is unlikely to survive even in a cold greenhouse over winter, so it may be worth pulling a rooted piece from the original plant in late summer and growing it on indoors over winter.
Usage
Also known as Yerba Buena, this aromatic plant has long been used medicinally for colds, fevers and digestive complaints in its native California. It makes a refreshing and relaxing tea and can be added desserts and summer drinks.
